Tennessee State Flag
Tennessee entered the Union in 1796 as the 16th State. Tennessee adopted its flag in 1905. The three stars represent the three regions of Tennessee, East, Middle, and West. (Some people believe that the three stars refer to the fact that Tennessee was the third state to join the union after the original thirteen. Our friend Mike Maynard assures us that this is a myth.) The colors are found in the flags of the United States and of the Confederacy. Tennessee state flags, flag decals, and Tennessee state deal decals are available from FlagLine.com. For more U.S. history, see our e-book "The History of the USA."
